Clinton County consists of the agricultural and industrial areas of St. Johns (county seat), DeWitt, Ovid, Elsie, Bath, Eagle, Fowler, Westphalia, Maple Rapids and Carland. With world class Michigan State University, auto giant General Motors and State of Michigan government located in the immediate region, Clinton County offers a wealth of innovative research resources, a highly skilled and dedicated workforce and pro-business attitudes.

Clinton County is the 42nd largest county in the state with a land area of 572 square miles. We take pride in our beautiful parks, sparkling streams, and over 25 lakes within the county, with recreation activities that include hunting, fishing, and boating.

Major Interstates: Clinton County is located in the south-central part of the lower peninsula, traversed by I-69, I-96, US-27, US-127 and M-21.

Capital City Airport: Capital City Airport, located in southwest Clinton County is serviced by major carriers Allegiant Air, Delta Airlines/Delta Connection, Northwest Airlines and United/United Express Airlines. Several rural airstrips are in operation throughout the county for small charter/private aircraft.

Amtrak: With a station located in East Lansing, near Clinton County’s southeast corner, Amtrak’s Michigan Service provides several convenient options for getting around the Wolverine State, and beyond.
