» Clinton County Economic Alliance Office “Open For Business”
(DeWitt) The Clinton County Economic Alliance has officially opened an office located at 12800 Escanaba Drive, Suite D in DeWitt.
Led by Chief Executive Officer, John B. Czarnecki, The Clinton County Economic Alliance was organized in 2006 by business and community leaders from across the county. It is an economic development organization whose mission is to promote and nurture economic growth within Clinton County. The Clinton County Economic Alliance is a member of the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) and also works closely with the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce.
As Chief Executive Officer, John B. Czarnecki is responsible for developing, executing and sustaining a targeted business attraction, retention and expansion initiative that defines and builds on the strengths of Clinton County and the mid-Michigan region. The Clinton County Economic Alliance is working to retain, attract and grow business in Clinton County.
“The citizens of Clinton County certainly realize the importance of growing the economy of the county,” said John B. Czarnecki, Chief Executive Officer. “I have received very positive responses from businesses in the county and I am working with several business organizations on expansion plans. We also hope to grow our agricultural industry while at the same time preserving our agricultural farmland.”
John B. Czarnecki, former Director of Program Administration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) assumed his responsibilities as the first Chief Executive Officer of the Clinton County Economic Alliance January 1, 2008.

(Nov. 5, 2007, St. Johns) John B. Czarnecki, the Director of Program Administration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has taken a position as the first President/Chief Executive Officer of the new Clinton County Economic Alliance. Czarnecki will assume his new responsibilities January 1, 2008.
As President/Chief Executive Officer, Czarnecki will be responsible for developing, executing and sustaining a targeted business attraction, retention and expansion initiative that defines and builds on the strengths of Clinton County and the mid-Michigan region.
Over his 30-year career with the state of Michigan, Czarnecki has worked in the departments of Management and Budget, Natural Resources, Commerce, and in the Office of the Governor. He served as mayor of East Lansing from 1983 to 1987, and served on the Ingham County Board of Commissioners from 1992 through 2002, serving as Chair in 2002. Czarnecki holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning from Michigan State University, and has pursued graduate course study in natural resources at MSU.
